Nutrition and health can be confusing and difficult to figure out. How do you know if something is truly good for you?
We have tried breaking the nutritional facts of our protein bars down for you, so you don’t have to be confused.
All of our bars are made from organic juicy dates, crunchy nuts and 11% insect powder. 11% might not sound like a lot, but it actually corresponds to over 500 buffalo worms in one bar!
Neither of our bars contain dairy or gluten, which means anyone with either lactose intolerance or gluten intolerance are free to eat these without worries.
To get a gist of exactly how healthy our insect bars are, here is a comparison
- One insect bar contains 11-12g of fibre, in a coarse piece of rye bread you get 9g of fibre
- One insect bar contains 3mg of iron, you get 4mg of iron in pure spinach
- One insect bar contains 0,4ug B12-vitamin, yogurt contains 0,3ug.
Instead of eating stale and dry rye bread or a portion of spinach you can eat a delicious protein bar with apple & cinnamon, cocoa orange or salty peanut butter - what’s not to like?
One bar of insect powder is filled with complete proteins, all of the 9 essential amino acids. Studies show that we absorb insect protein really well. Not only is a bar filled with protein, the insect powder also contains fibres, Omega-3 fatty acids and essential vitamins and minerals.
By eating just one Wholi insect protein bar you get up to 18% protein, 11g fibre and a large part of your daily need of zinc, magnesium, B12-vitamin and iron is also covered.
