5 quick tips for a healthy 2020

Do you have a new years resolution to live a bit healthier during 2020?

It can be difficult to go from a month of overeating and stuffing yourself with all of the most unhealthy and yet delicious stuff to being a healthy and balanced being. We have some tips for you that will help you adjust and transition better.

Drink a lot of water

You might think this is a given, however even in 2020 some people still underestimate the positive effects of water.

Boost your immune system

This is the season of colds, but you can do something to prevent the cold from getting to you. Ginger is a classic when it comes to helping your immune system and so is lemon. Make a hot cup of tea with a slice of ginger and lemon to boost your immune system. Eating insects of course also contributes with a range of imporatant essential vitamins and minerals including calcium, magnesium, B12 and Omega-3.

Have realistic exercise goals

Many people expect that they can go from couch potato to exercising 7 times a week. But if your new year's resolution is to exercise every single day, you are bound to fail. If you start with 1 or 2 times a week, it is much more manageable and realistic. The important thing is to get into a rhythm and make it a habit. When 2 times a week is easy breezy, you will easily be able to adjust your exercise and increase your workouts.

Sleeping is important if you want to reach your goals

If you’re an adult the general necessary amount of sleep is 7 to 8 hours. When it comes to your new routine as a healthy exercising adult, getting your sleep is crucial for you to succeed. If you get quality sleep, your body is able to fight off illness easier, your brain will be able to concentrate better and your workouts will be more efficient.

Eat healthy snacks

We all know the feeling. We had lunch two hours ago and dinner feels like days away. Our stomach is craving that white chocolate with extra crunch and you need that sugar. But you know that refined sugar is the worst and you are trying to get healthy this year, you promised yourself that 2020 was going to be your year! How about getting yourself a bowl of mixed nuts, apple slices with peanut butter, some dates or perhaps a delicious and filling insect protein bar? There are numerous alternatives to sugary snacks.
